Women’s Forum Blog - Part II
Only four weeks left until the P&G Alumni Reunion in Toronto, and I have a number of updates on the Women’s Forum to tell you about:
- The Thursday evening Women’s Forum dinner is now SOLD OUT!
- The Women’s Forum sessions on Friday are STILL AVAILABLE, so make sure to sign up for these!
- I have more information to share on the speakers for the Business session!
Due to overwhelming demand and limited capacity, the Thursday evening dinner for the Women’s Forum is now sold out. Thank you all so much for your great interest in this event! But not to worry, all of the Friday morning Women’s Forum sessions are still available, when you register for either the Full Event Registration or the Education Package option. We’ve put together a very strong morning of topics and speakers, so I would encourage you to register now!
In my last blog I shared an overview of all of the sessions and highlighted the first of the speakers for the Business Session: C-Suite and Boardroom Impact, namely Jim Muzyka, Vice President and General Manager, Xerox Global Services, Xerox Canada Ltd. Jim is the Executive Champion of the Women’s Alliance within Xerox and was recently honoured by the Association of Canadian Women in Communications with the Champion of Women’s Advancement Award. He will share his experience as a member of a Board which had just one woman on it when he joined, something he was determined to change. He proposed that the Board undertake a committed, measurable initiative to achieve greater gender diversity and within a year the initiative had moved the number from one woman to six. Joining Jim, I am very pleased to have Sandy Cimoroni, Senior Vice President, TD Waterhouse Financial Planning. Sandy is an active member of TDBFG’s Women in Leadership Council and is responsible for the Women’s Networking Committee. She will share insights into the criticality of having an in-depth women’s program and the success this had led to at TD, where they have grown from having just 8% of women at the VP+ level 14 years ago, to 34% today. I am also very pleased to have Lisa Heidman LL.B., Senior Client Partner, North American Director of Bedford Legal, joining us. Lisa specializes in executive searches for C-Suite and Board positions and will speak to the key trends in driving the representation of women in these roles forward. In July 2009 she was appointed to the Board of Directors of Women of Influence™, one of Canada’s preeminent organizations for recognizing high-powered Senior Executive Women and inspiring and developing professional women throughout Canada and the United States. Definitely a session worth attending!
I look forward to seeing you all there!
